Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some of the most common questions we get about our products.

We spent many years researching and testing many different potential materials. After years of testing and development, we determined that our tackle storage systems would be based around the use of silicone. Here are a few of the reasons why.

  • We’re able to design, mold, and shape anchoring systems for specific types of tackle (tackle storage that’s actually designed for your tackle)
  • Holds and anchors tackle extremely tight
  • No memory, self healing
  • Extremely durable
  • Withstands extremes in temperatures
  • Repels moisture
  • Looks great!

Our closure system is one of the most highly touted aspects of our boxes. We use nickel plated rare earth neodymium magnets. These magnets are extremely strong, very durable, and are ready for whatever you’re going to put them through. We’ve ran our boxes through a series of tests where they were opened and closed over 20k times. We ultimately stopped that test because we there wasn’t any sign of wear or tear, even after 20k cycles. In other words, this is the strongest, most durable closure on any box out there!

One question many anglers have is how soft plastics will interact with our boxes. Another significant advantage of the use of silicone is the fact that it doesn’t interact negatively with plastics. The polycarbonate shell we use for our boxes is also second to none in terms of durability and likewise it does not interact negatively with plastics. We have tested many different types and brands of plastics with our boxes and ultimately the tests have shown no negative effect on neither the box itself nor the silicone anchoring systems.

Our boxes are not waterproof. Let us explain why that is. There are a couple of factors with our boxes that make us confident that when actually put to the test, the non-waterproof concern will be much less that you may think.

  • One, our silicone anchoring systems. Silicone repels water and moisture, so when the hooks are anchored in the silicone anchors or slits, any moisture that may be on the bait or hook or in the box is repelled away from your tackle. Because our silicone anchors hold your tackle so well, you can simply shake out any remaining moisture and you’re set.
  • Two, our boxes are engineered extremely well. While we will not advertise them as waterproof, they are designed and built so well that very little moisture will actually get in the box. You can see in the video to the left, we submerged them in water for a bit and very little to no moisture got into the box. We did this with our other two boxes and the results were essentially the same.

We do not advertise these as waterproof because they aren’t that, but you can see that very little moisture is able to get into them even when submerged. In the day to day use, and even when dropped, they’re not likely to be submerged like this, and thus should see even less moisture getting inside.

We have had a few people ask us how durable our boxes are. We thought we’d put them to the test. We’ll let the video answer the question about their durability.
